How local heritage can create new opportunities for the development of territories

This was the topic of the report of the Tourist Association of Ivano-Frankivsk during the conference “Tourism. Current state and development trends “in the city of Rivne, organized by the management of culture and tourism of Rivne city executive committee on June 7, 2018.

As the organizers have noted, a tourist conference specially organized to find ideas and study experience in the field for the development of the tourist potential of the city, was organized here for the first time. The event gathered specialists in the field of tourism throughout the western region of Ukraine, various specialties and local businessmen, journalists, local lore, public figures. As a city in Rivne, which has a long and interesting history, but in which the monuments of antiquity have not actually been preserved, to attract and attract a tourist traveling to Ukraine? This is the main question that faced the experts – the participants of the Rivne assembly.

In its presentation, TAIF demonstrated, in its own experience, that material and material assets of the local heritage could be an impetus for active local development. Rovnyany saw a fairly wide range of tourist products, created by the association and partners over the past 5-7 years. The special interest of the students was caused by the Vygis’kyj narrow-gauge center of heritage as a hub of changes in the community and audio excursions by six cities-pearls of Eastern Poland and Western Ukraine.

Today in Rivne, with the support of the European Commission in Ukraine, the project “The Mysterious Underground of Rivne” is being implemented in Ukraine, which gives the city community the chance to create its own unique tourist product – interactive labyrinths-dungeons in the center of the city of Rivne, capable of detaining visitors and increasing their spending, and attractions – the Rivne Zoo and the Love Tunnel in Klevan – make the region a desirable destination for many responsible tourists.
